1. Training courses for Foreign Service personnel and officials from other relevant government agencies: The institute conducts two training courses annually, lasting either two or three weeks, for personnel from the Foreign Service and other government agencies who are to be stationed abroad. These courses help them better comprehend government policies and the work of overseas missions.
2. Courses for personnel returning from overseas: In order to help diplomats returning for home assignment adapt to the domestic environment, courses are arranged so as to enhance their comprehension of the current political, economic and social situation in Taiwan, as well as the latest policies of the central government.
3. Other forms of job-related training: Training includes seminars for entry- and mid-level management, language courses (including courses for the spouses of staff members), interdisciplinary courses and professional seminars on specific topics.
