From October 17 to October 21, 2024, the participants of the “2024 Pacific Islands Leadership Program” embarked on a 5-day visit to southern and eastern Taiwan. Led by Counselor San-shiun Tseng, the first day’s (October 17) itinerary in Kaohsiung was eventful, including visits to Anyong Biotechnology Co., Ltd., the Ocean Affairs Council, National Sun Yat-sen University and the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying).
Starting on the 18th, for three consecutive days, the participants, accompanied by Yueh-Hsi SU, the Chief Secretary of the Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs, visited various indigenous communities in the Pingtung and Taitung regions. They toured the Indigenous Peoples Cultural Development Center, Taiwan Indigenous Peoples Cultural Park, Rinari Community, Vudai Community, Kasavakan Community, and the National Museum of Prehistory, immersing themselves in Taiwan’s rich indigenous culture and gaining a wealth of experience.
