1. Authorization method and scope
In order to facilitate the public’s use of website information, all of the information and materials posted on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the Republic of China (Taiwan) that are protected under copyright law may be reauthorized for public use without cost in a nonexclusive manner. They may be reproduced, adapted, edited, publicly transmitted or utilized in other forms, or developed into various products or services (herein known as derivatives) at any time or place. This authorization will not be retracted hereafter, and users do not have to acquire written or any other form of authorization from the administration. However, the source of the information and materials should be stated.
2. Information on related items
- The authorized scope is only within the scope protected under copyright. It does not cover other intellectual property rights, including but not limited to patents, trademarks, and MOFA’s logo.
- Whether or not a user’s personal information that is disclosed actively or as legally required, can be collected, processed or utilized, the user must follow the related provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act, and plan and execute the related measures required by law.
- For some videos, photos, sheet music, and contracted writing or other works, the administration must especially state that approval must be duly obtained before use.
3. Users should be careful not to infringe upon the moral rights of a third party (including the right of paternity and the right of integrity.)
4. Information and materials used under this authorization should not be maliciously altered. If edited and the reworked information does not match the original, the user may be held civilly and criminally liable.
5. The website’s authorization does not authorize the user to represent the administration with regards to its recommendation, approval or agreement pertaining to derivatives.
