Wei-chung Lai, Minister on Home Assignment of the Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs began participating in short-term collaborative work with the Tzu Chi Foundation in Hualien starting in March 2026, gaining in-depth understanding of the foundation’s international aid.
On April 9, he delivered a lecture titled “Experiences in International Charity Diplomacy” which he shared insights from his overseas postings, including his cooperative efforts with Tzu Chi, and discussed how both sides can continue working together in the future to promote collaborating for common good and demonstrate Taiwan’s spirit of compassion and goodwill.
